I have a lot of trouble picking jewelry for loved ones. Particularly when it’s a significant other. See, the problem is I buy what I like, which is usually not what they like. And you may say, well shouldn’t a lover wear discount pearls for you? To which I’d respond, ideally, but there’s also the problem of enjoying what you wear.
Let’s say you don’t feel comfortable in a certain outfit. You aren’t going to go out of your way to talk to the beautiful woman across the room. Similarly, my significant other isn’t going to feel like the million bucks she ought to when she’s wearing the discount pearls I bought her.
So what do I do? I ask my mother for advice. She asks what her skin tone is, what color her eyes are and what are her favorite colors to wear, usually in that order.
